Start with your target programme
IPU admission planning begins with the programme you want to study. A BBA applicant, a BCA applicant and a journalism applicant should not automatically follow the same preparation or eligibility checklist. Write down the exact programme name before comparing batches or colleges.
Build a shortlist based on your academic interests, qualifying subjects, travel needs and budget. Keep a separate entry for each programme rather than treating the university as a single admission option.
Keep preparation, application and counselling separate
Buying a preparation course does not submit a university application. Appearing for an entrance does not by itself complete counselling. Treat these as three connected tasks with separate requirements.
- Preparation: map your study plan to the applicable entrance syllabus.
- Application: check the prospectus, submit the form and save your confirmation.
- Counselling: follow programme-specific registration, choices, allotment and reporting notices.
Build a useful admission tracker
For each option, record the programme, official source, eligibility checks, accepted entrance route, application status, next deadline and action required. Add a link to the notice behind every date so you can recheck extensions or revised schedules.
Keep an “action completed” column. A screenshot of a deadline is less useful than knowing whether you actually submitted the form and retained the receipt.
Read eligibility before paying
Check compulsory subjects, marks calculation, category conditions and any result-awaited provisions in the applicable prospectus. Similar course names can have different requirements. Resolve a mismatch before paying an application or coaching fee.
Use college choices and cutoffs carefully
Compare curriculum, total cost, commute, practical facilities and programme-specific evidence. When reading a cutoff, match the programme, college, shift, region, category, round and year. A historical closing rank is not an admission guarantee.
